Past several months saw public outcry over vacant units amid national housing crisis
After several months of confusion over why there are vacant units in a seniors assisted living building in Dryden, Ont., a new partnership has been announced that will see the empty spaces filled by Indigenous seniors.
Patricia Gardens offers housing for seniors who can live independently but still benefit from on-site services as needed. It is owned and operated by not-for-profit Dryden District Senior Services Incorporated.
This week, the Dryden Native Friendship Centre announced a two-year pilot project with Dryden District Senior Services that aims to make housing more accessible to Indigenous seniors in the small northwestern Ontario city.
