Press Release
In order to prioritize the health and safety of clients, communities, and staff, the Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC) is suspending all non-essential services effective immediately. This includes the cancellation of all group programming, traditional healing visits, and non-urgent clinical and mental health appointments across our clinics and outreach sites.
Our staff will be contacting clients to cancel scheduled appointments. Telephone or virtual appointments will be offered as an alternative wherever possible.
SOAHAC will continue to provide the following essential services:
- Urgent primary care
- Indigenous palliative care
- Crisis counselling
- COVID-19 assessment and support
- Support, navigation and connection for individuals and families in isolation
- Emergency dental services in London
If you have questions or would like to schedule a telephone appointment, please contact the SOAHAC site nearest to you. For emergency dental assessment and care planning, call the SOAHAC Dental Clinic directly at 519-914-0533. If you must visit SOAHAC and have respiratory symptoms including fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please call to inform us prior to coming in for your appointment.
SOAHAC will continue to monitor the outbreak across affected communities in southwest Ontario. We will keep you informed about our response as changes arise and needs evolve.
If you have symptoms of respiratory illness, including fever, cough, or shortness of breath and you have recently returned from abroad, please contact Telehealth Ontario or your local public health unit.
