Funding from federal, Nunavut governments marked for improving water facilities, studies into treatment

Six Nunavut communities will share a combined $3.7 million from the federal and territorial governments to improve water and wastewater treatment.

The hamlets of Arctic Bay, Grise Fiord, Pond Inlet, Rankin Inlet and Sanikiluaq will share $2.4 million for studies supporting the future opening of five new water treatment facilities and improving access to potable water in those communities, the Department of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities announced in a news release Wednesday.
