Six Nations Mourns the Loss of a Community Member

On March 30, 2021, Six Nations Elected Council received notice from Ohsweken Public Health that a ninth community member has passed due to complications from COVID-19.

Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council sends their sincere condolences to the family and to all who are affected by this tragic loss.

Although Six Nations has recently changed to Alert Level Orange, this recent loss is an acute reminder to keep up our collective fight against COVID-19. Elected Chief Mark Hill stated, “We must continue to follow all safety guidelines to ensure we don’t lose any more loved ones to this terrible virus. Choosing to get vaccinated and continuing to follow public health guidelines are important steps in preventing the spread of COVID-19.”
