LHIN CEO says money recognizes health care takes place in homes and communities, and not just hospitals
Community health care organizations across Simcoe County got a little holiday cheer as the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) announced $5 million in increased investment.
LHIN chief executive Jill Tettman said the investments, which are targeted at organizations that provide health care services outside the traditional medical system, recognize health care takes place in homes and communities, and not just hospitals.
“The funding is a welcome addition to many community health service providers,” she said. “It will enable them to either increase services they’re currently providing or offer them on a first-time basis.”
