A group of survivors is trying to help more people pursue procedures such as tubal ligation reversal, in vitro fertilization or surrogacy.
It took nearly 20 years for Katy Bear to feel whole again.
In 2005, Bear was 21, happy and healthy. She had just given birth to her fourth child and was recovering at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. But she said that joyous day took a turn when a part of her was taken — a part she never thought she would get back.
