Requirements for Air Travel In and Out of the James and Hudson Bay Area

Please be advised that effective immediately, Transport Canada has announced new requirements for those travelling by air in and out of the Hudson and James Bay Area. These requirements pertain to any person aged 12+ travelling by air, regardless of if it is for personal, medical (NIHB) or business reasons.
Please review the following information to understand your responsibilities, which are based on your vaccination status and which direction you are travelling.
These requirements are set to be revised November 29, 2021. Transport Canada will provide updated requirements at this time.
Requirements for Vaccinated Travelers
- You must bring your proof of vaccination and a valid ID that matches your proof of vaccination.

Remember: In order to be considered fully vaccinated, you must have received two doses of the vaccine more than 14 days ago.
Requirements for Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated Travelers
If you are travelling from within the James and Hudson Bay Area to the South:
- If you have a medical exemption, bring it with you.
- If you are stopping in Timmins or Kingston on your way to somewhere else (for example, catching a connecting flight to Toronto or Ottawa), you WILL need to be tested for COVID-19 at the airport before boarding your second flight. This test will be provided in the airport at no cost to you.
If you are travelling from the South to the James and Hudson Bay Area
- You WILL need to be tested for COVID-19 prior to boarding your flight. You must arrive at the airport two (2) hours before your flight to ensure there is enough time to process the test. The test will be provided at no cost to you.
