The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for raw pistachios sold at a store in Burlington due to possible salmonella contamination.
The affected item was sold in bulk, from May 1 up to and including Aug. 15, at Bulk Food Warehouse, 516 Plains Rd. E. and distributed in Ontario.
This recall is connected to an ongoing investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak, the government agency said.
Anyone who believes they may have become sick from consuming a recalled product is advised to contact their healthcare provider; check to see if they have recalled products; not consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute it; and throw or return it to the location where it was purchased.
Food that is contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick, said the CFIA.
