Press Release
October 4, 2022
The Qanuippitaa? National Inuit Health Survey (QNIHS) is hosting a community meet-and-greet in Hopedale on October 5 at the Nanuk Centre from 6-8 p.m. This event is a celebration of the start of data collection for the Nunatsiavut region of the QNIHS.
We welcome the community to this public event to introduce the QNIHS fieldworker team. There will be smoked char and other light refreshments for the community as well as a meet and greet event with the QNIHS team and representatives of the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami National Inuit Committee on Health.
Data collection is scheduled to take place at the Nanuk Center from October 6-20, 2022, and may be extended depending on weather. If your name is randomly selected, a representative from the QNIHS team will reach out to you. There will be wellness supports and transportation available at each data collection site. Surveys can take anywhere from 60-90 minutes and Inuktitut translation will also be available as required.
The Nunatsiavut QNIHS team is looking forward to seeing everyone in Hopedale and other Labrador Inuit communities.
