The Nunatsiavut Department of Health and Social Development is in the process of implementing a plan to offer a third dose of a COVID- 19 vaccine to residents, 18 years of age and older, in each of the five Labrador Inuit communities who received their second dose between February and April of this year.
“We will continue to work with all relevant authorities to ensure we are able to deliver the vaccine as quickly as possible in a safe and efficient manner,” says Nunatsiavut’s Health and Social Development Minister Gerald Asivak. “We’ve had tremendous success in administering vaccines to eligible residents earlier this year, and we fully expect the same response this time around.”
DHSD is responsible for delivering public health services, including administering the vaccine, to all eligible residents in Nunatsiavut.
Weather permitting, DHSD staff will administer vaccines on the following dates:

Residents of the five Labrador Inuit communities employed at Voisey’s Bay during the above noted dates are asked to contact their respective community Public Health Office to arrange an appointment to receive their booster vaccine.
