PSA: Iqaluit Food Voucher Distribution

The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) and Ayaya are partnering to deliver the COVID-19 food security vouchers to Iqaluit Inuit. Vouchers are available for all Inuit in Iqaluit that are 16 years or older as of March 31, 2022

To book a home delivery individuals must email and leave their house number, the names of all eligible Inuit 16+ who live in that household, and phone number.  If they do not have access to email they can call 867-979-1484 and leave a message with their house number, names of individuals in the house, and a phone number to reach them at.

All Vouchers will be distributed by home delivery during the week of January 17th – 21st.

Inuit will receive food vouchers totaling $275.00 to spend on groceries. One voucher worth $137.50 for Ventures Marketplace, and a second voucher worth $137.50 for Northmart. Funding for these vouchers is provided by Indigenous Services Canada for emergency relief in communities affected by COVID-19.

Starting on January 12th all Inuit 16+ in Iqaluit can email with their house number, name of all Inuit 16+ in household and phone number. If they do not have access to an email they can phone 867-979-1484 and leave a message with the same information.

Vouchers will be distributed by contactless home delivery the week of January 17th between 9am and 5pm. Please be patient with the delivery drivers.

Any organizations that are housing Inuit should also email with the names of all Inuit 16+ that are residing with them at this time.

This is a one-time program that concludes on January 21, 2022.
