Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a Professional Practice Leader to direct and lead the Clinical Dietitian Services team at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops, B.C.The Professional Practice Leader is responsible for the oversight of the entire Dietitian department at RIH as well as outpatient services, Home Health, and Long Term Care. They provide clinical oversight and support to the clinicians, budgetary oversight to all their departments, as well program support and development to their entire portfolio. The Professional Practice Leader is connected to numerous programs across the entire city as well as rurally, including oversight of the Diabetic Nurse Educators in Kamloops and surrounding area.

This Permanent Full Time position works from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.

Administrative Component:
In accordance with established mission, vision and values of the organization, this position is accountable for the administration, supervision, planning and budgeting of the department. Reporting to the Allied Health Director on administrative matters this position is responsible for monitoring and managing budgets, workload, quality, labour relations and human resource issues. The incumbent is responsible for interpreting and implementing all organizational regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to Allied Health services in their respective area, site, department or program.

Professional Leader Component:
Provides leadership and representation for the assigned Allied Health profession in their respective area, site, department or program. The position is responsible for ensuring that standards for the Allied Health profession are consistent with regulatory/accrediting body standards and relevant legislation. Contributes to the development of the profession throughout the health authority via the practice council. Advises the Allied Health Director on professional practice issues and other matters regarding the Allied Health services.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
• Completion of a recognized degree from an accredited program in the assigned Allied Health profession;
• Recent five (5) years’ clinical practice including a minimum of two (2) years’ Supervisory or Management experience in the assigned Allied Health field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current Registration with the College or current Certification with the appropriate Association/Body for the assigned Allied Health profession/discipline as applicable.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
