Prince Albert Grand Council: Emergency Care Package Donations

Press Release

March 17, 2020

Prince Albert Grand Council’s Urban Services is currently collecting basic necessities for our community members living in Prince Albert. We recognize that many of our First Nations families are most vulnerable during these times of emergency, especially for our Elders, disabled members, and single parent families who have barriers to transportation.

We are currently preparing Emergency Care Packages, which will include non-perishable food items and necessary disinfecting supplies. However, as we anticipated the need may outweigh our current ability to provide these provisions, we are requesting your support by way of monetary donations or food/cleaning items.

We are accepting the following items:

  • Dried pasta and rice
  • Pasta sauce
  • Canned soups, vegetables and beans
  • Pet food and supplies
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Thermometer
  • Diapers
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Fever-reducing medication
  • (acetaminophen or ibuprofen for adults and children)
  • Facial tissue
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Plastic garbage bags
  • Dish soap
  • Laundry detergent
  • Household bleach
  • Household cleaning products
  • Soap

All donations can be dropped off at Prince Albert Grand Council – Urban Services located at 1410B Central Avenue between the hours of 10 am to 4:00 pm. Our staff will be preparing and distributing the packages. We just ask you to please call ahead to ensure the safety of our staff and volunteers.

We would like to thank your organization for consideration and hope to hear from you in the near future.

If you require further information or if clarification is required, please leave a message at (306) 765-5300.

Sincerely,

Geoff Despins
