Peterborough Public Health wants 11.77 per cent funding increase – The Peterborough Examiner

Increase would amount to $146,148

Peterborough Public Health (PPH) is asking Peterborough County for an 11.77 per cent increase in funding in 2024 from 2023, which amounts to $146,148.

Larry Stinson, director of operations for PPH and Dr. Thomas Piggott, medical officer of health and CEO of PPH attended a recent county council regular meeting and gave a presentation on the needs of the health unit in the coming year.

The PPH forecasts an increase in expenditures of 4.48 per cent over the 2023 budget, with the main expense being salaries and benefits.

This represents an average $7.40 annual increase per household in the county of Peterborough, or $2.68 per capita.
