| Interior Health is seeking a LPN–Orthopaedic Technologist to join our team to support the Urgent and Primary Care Learning Centre at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH)/Clinical Services Building. This is an inpatient-based position that works both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team where services include specialized casting, minor fractures, sprains and strains.As the LPN-Orthopaedic Technologist you will perform assessments and plan, implement and provide nursing care to patients in an ambulatory care setting. You will also dispense and administer oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures. Under the direction of a physician you will provide orthopaedic care by assessing and evaluating patient condition, reviewing x-rays, applying casts and splints, and removing pins and sutures as well as setting up traction equipment and performing related orthopaedic duties. |
| Qualifications |
| Graduation from a BCCNM recognized practical nursing education program plus completion of formal post-basic education in Orthopaedics, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Current practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) required. |
