CAAN VOW (Voices of Women) Standing Committee is seeking new members!
Who: If you are an Aboriginal woman who wants to make a difference for your community, and are knowledgeable about HIV and AIDS and Aboriginal women’s issues, we welcome your application to become a CAAN VOW committee member.
Aboriginal women living with or affected by HIV and AIDS are strongly encouraged to apply. Public disclosure of HIV status is not a requirement to be part of CAAN VOW. We welcome all the diversity of our Aboriginal women’s community, which include Inuit, Métis and First Nations; women who are two-spirit or transgendered; women who are front-line workers; women who are health care providers and/or community health representatives and women who may already be connected and/or working with a CAAN member Aboriginal AIDS Service Organization (AASO). We welcome all diversity!!
What: As a standing committee within the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN), the VOW women represents leadership in all issues of HIV/AIDS. The VOW represents Aboriginal women from across Canada and are currently working together to carry out a 5 year National Aboriginal Women’s Strategy on HIV and AIDS in Canada.
