Mamisarvik Healing Centre is reopening its doors for the residential treatment of Trauma and Addictions with a gender specific program to meet current best practices, as such, we will start with a women specific intake in the residential program.
Mamisarvik Healing Centre will however provide Day Programming that is for both men and women and youth. The day program will run out of the new TI facility at 1071 Richmond Road Monday to Friday. It will include After Care supportive programming as well as pre- care programming for those who have come through Mamisarvik or those that are thinking about applying to the residential program. We plan to have a male specific intake in 2017 for the residential program.
Mamisarvik is also working collaboratively with the Champlain LHIN, the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care as well as Health Canada and INAC to help move forward not only on core funding support for the existing site but for future improvements. We would like to thank them for their ongoing support and efforts to ensure that Inuit will have access to a program with a proven track record of outstanding results in helping Inuit repair and live with the trauma that has been suffered.
We are open and accepting new clients and our application and other Intake forms are available on line at www.tungasuvvingatinuit.ca Printed copies can be picked up in person at 1071 Richmond Road or 1863 Russell Road. We have staff available to assist you in the completion of the application forms as well as supportive programming and counseling. We will only accept voluntary and change ready clients into the residential program. We look forward to serving you again will help you find your strength and resilience to move forward in a healthier way.

Background
The Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) Mamisarvik Healing Centre operated successfully from 2002 to March 2016 primarily funded by the Aboriginal Healing Foundation until its closure in December 2014. Since April 1st 2016 TI has been funded to review all aspects of the program model, business model and conduct a stakeholder analysis of need. All this feedback has been considered and been the basis for the relaunched service.
