Healthcare staff were flying in and out of Pikangikum every day after OPP expelled March 20
Three weeks after nursing staff were pulled out of Pikangikum First Nation by Indigenous Services Canada, full-time health services have been restored to the northwestern Ontario First Nation located 200 kilometres north of Kenora.
The decision was made after Pikangikum leadership met with federal minister Marc Miller on Saturday, according to Mathew Hoppe, chief executive officer of the Independent First Nations Alliance (IFNA), which represents five First Nations including Pikangikum.
