Press Release
July 28, 2020
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. and the City of Iqaluit would like to thank our community partners for their on-going work to distribute cleaning kits to Inuit families in need of support during COVID-19.
The Recreation Department assembled 1,000 cleaning kits thanks to a generous donation of $50,000 from Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. The City also thanks The Tukigisiarvik Society, Qajuqturvik Community Food Centre, and the Government of Nunavut Department of Family Services for their on-going work to coordinate and distribute the cleaning kits.
These cleaning kits ensure that all families have the resources they need to help reduce exposure to germs and prevent the spread of COVID-19. The kits will be distributed on an on-going basis for families in need until supplies run out.
The City extends a thank you to all residents for their efforts. It is together as a community that we continue to keep Nunavut COVID-free.
