The community of Salluit, located in the Inuit territory of Nunavik in sub-arctic Quebec, has its first confirmed case of Covid-19, according to the Kativik Regional Government (KRG).
The release, sent out Saturday evening, said poice in the community are enforcing a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.
All flights to and from the fly in community of 1,500 are cancelled except for “extreme exceptions”.
A separate press release from the Nunavik Regional Board of Heath and Social Services (NRBHSS), states that, “the patient is still currently sharing a house with others but is isolated in a specific room and hygiene measures are being strictly applied.”
