Nunavik’s Regional Board of Health and Social Services has set a goal to provide the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to every child aged five to 11 in the region by Christmas.
Josee Levesque, a spokesperson with the board, emailed some early information about Nunavik’s vaccine rollout plan to Nunatsiaq News Sunday evening.
“The objective is to have each Nunavimmiut aged 5 to 11 to receive their s hot before Christmas time,” she said in the email.
Levesque says vaccination teams will travel to communities across the region and vaccine appointments will be available to children in some schools.
