NunatuKavut Contributes to Canadian Cancer Society’s Air Daffodil

03 November 2017

The NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) today announced a $5,000 donation to the Canadian Cancer Society for Air Daffodil – Air Travel Assistance Program. It provides much-needed financial assistance to cancer patients in Labrador who travel by air for medical treatment.

Air Daffodil is designed to alleviate the burden of a cancer diagnosis and the inevitable travel costs associated with obtaining treatment outside of Labrador. NCC’s donation will help cover the costs of approximately 10 one-way flights from Labrador.

A cheque was presented to Mr. Al Pelley, Vice President of Philanthropy with the Canadian Cancer Society (NL Division) by President Russell during a visit to Daffodil Place in St. John’s this afternoon.

NCC is committed to giving back to the community and continues to support initiatives that make a positive difference in the lives of Southern Inuit and those in the wider community.
