NU Government: Health celebrates World No Tobacco Day with call for community-led proposals

World No Tobacco Day is May 31, and the Department of Health is encouraging all Nunavummiut to be tobacco-free!

Hamlets, local and regional organizations in Nunavut are invited to submit one-time funding proposals for community-led projects to reduce tobacco use in the territory. For more details, please contact [email protected] The deadline is Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

If you are thinking of being tobacco-free, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), like the patch, gum and inhaler, help with nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms. NRT is available at your local health centre, pharmacy or public health unit at no cost for Nunavut Inuit.
