Following a notification pathway developed jointly between Vancouver Coastal Health and the First Nations Health Authority developed specifically for use in First Nations communities, this notice is to inform residents of a confirmed case of COVID-19 on Capilano IR #5.
There is no need for panic at this time. The patient is informed and receiving care. As per public health protocols, all close contacts are already in isolation and being tested.
Out of respect for patient confidentiality, we have not received any personal information about who has been affected. We ask that community members do their best not to react or respond to any rumours.
We would like to commend the good work our community members have been doing to keep themselves, their families, and our community safe.
