What does a northern harvest look like in your community?
Show us what a northern harvest looks like in your community and you could win a camcorder or a digital camera! In a short (3-5 minute) video answer one or both of the following questions. Question 1: What are the food traditions in your community? Question 2: What is your community doing to be more self-sufficient with food? The contest is open to northern Manitoba youth 18 years and under and the closing date is September 16, 2009.The aim of the contest is to engage youth in food issues in their community as well as to foster relationships between youth and elders. All videos will be used to promote northern food security and will be shown at this year’s 3rd annual Northern Harvest Forum in Thompson in October.
All video participants must sign a release form for the video to be eligible for entry. The release form must be signed by a parent/legal guardian if the participant is under 18 years of age.
