Stop these child suicides, Editorial Jan. 16

The Star editorial states that “longer term, the solution must be to root out the causes of hopelessness that fuel the spikes in child suicide.”

The Nishnawbe nations are authoring their own demise – perpetuating a culture of self-apartheid. They are choosing to live in the remotest of regions, hundreds of kilometers from communities that could offer access to clean water, health care, education and most importantly – jobs. There is no hope because there can be no hope.
