August 28, 2017

Is your focus in mental health and addictions? Do you work with Indigenous people?

Engaging Indigenous people who use substances is a one-hour eLearning course that provides nurses and other health-care professionals with concepts and evidence-based practices when working with Indigenous people who use substances.

The course outlines appropriate terminology to describe Indigenous people, the effects of colonialism and residential schools, and cultural healing methods such as storytelling and spirituality.

The eLearning course is available at RNAO e-Learning and can be found under “Addiction and Mental Health”.
