SAINT JOHN, N.B. – An emergency housing facility for at-risk youth is scheduled to reopen in Saint John after getting financial help from the New Brunswick government and a church group.

Families and Children Minister Stephen Horsman said yesterday that Safe Harbour Transitional Youth Services will open its doors again in March.

The facility closed in January due to financial problems, but received help from the Anglican Diocese of Fredericton and the Department of Social Development.

It will be run by Partners for Youth, an organization that works with young people facing challenges.

The province says the facility will have 10 beds in the Saint John city centre and help residents develop skills needed to live independently.

They will be able to stay at the facility for a short time or up to six months.
