Aboriginal people with Type 2 diabetes 18-years of age and over may be eligible to participate in a study evaluating the effectiveness of a stress reduction program designed to improve physical and emotional health.Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has been shown to:
Reduce stress
Increase healthy lifestyle behaviours
Decrease blood sugar levels (A1C) & blood pressure in people with diabetes
Lead to significant positive changes in other health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, heart disease, chronic pain)
Enrich relationships
