MNBC: Submit a short video to celebrate our youth during COVID-19

MNBC, the Ministry of Health and Métis Youth BC are inviting you to submit a short video to say thank you to all the Métis working on the front lines of the pandemic.Youth from ages 15 to 30 make up a large portion of the workforce in essential, public- facing industries like hospitality, retail, personal services and healthcare. They are also the ones we’ve been leaning on to lend a hand when Elders or those at increased risk of COVID-19 are forced to stay at home. They have picked up groceries for our Elders, made and delivered your take-out food, kept grocery store shelves stocked and safely cut your hair. They’ve also been working tirelessly in the hospitals as nurses, doctors and medical technicians to keep you healthy and safe.

Now, it’s time we say thank you to them for all that they’ve done. We’re planning to compile a short video featuring tributes to our youth for our social media channels and website. To do this, we’re asking you to send a short video that fits the following criteria:

• Taken on a cell phone, shot vertically (tall not wide).
• No longer than 20 seconds.
• Includes a thank you message from you or whoever else you may like to include.
• Clearly shows the faces of those saying thank you to our youth (this is a time when selfie mode is best).

Please, no still photo submissions. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 14, 2021. Please email your videos along with your full name to Sophie Gray at sgray@mnbc.ca.
