October 12, 2017 (Surrey, BC) – Métis Nation British Columbia’s Director of Health Tanya Davoren (left) had an opportunity to meet with Minister of Mental Health and Addictions the Honourable Judy Darcy (right) at the Dialogue on Early Actions in Vancouver on Wednesday, October 11.
Select participants prepared to discuss immediate steps in four areas: Saving Lives; Improving Access and Reducing Stigma; Overcoming Fragmentation, and, Child and Youth Mental Health.
MNBC Minister responsible for Health, Susie Hooper, and Director Davoren will be meeting with the Minister in the near future to initiate discussions on mental health and addictions , existing gaps in service for Métis people, and what needs to change for our Métis people in BC.
MNBC will provide an update on these initiatives as meetings with the province unfold.
