Annual pageant about ‘your inner beauty’

After being crowned Miss North Ontario Regional Canada 2022, 20-year-old Grace Webb said she plans to use her reign to continue advocating for clean drinking water in Indigenous communities.

“Get the word out and make people realize like this is a huge issue and it needs to be brought to attention again,” said Webb.

Even though there have been actions such as the First Nation Drinking Water Settlement, which provides compensation for First Nations impacted by a drinking water advisory, the newly crowned queen said it’s not enough.

The Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant has been empowering young women in northern Ontario to recognize their value, work, and potential since 2006.
