A report from the Métis Nation of Alberta’s “What We Heard” identifies an area of high importance for suicide prevention within Métis Albertans.
According to the report, suicide prevention has been a constant community priority and cenus data on Indigenous mental health. The report also identifies that the suicide rate amongst the Métis is nearly twice as high as non-Indigenous identifying individuals.
