The Government of Nunavut, in partnership with Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI), is reviewing and updating the Nunavut Mental Health Act.

Public consultations help ensure that amendments to the Mental Health Act incorporate Inuit culture and values, and reflect the challenges of addressing mental illness in Nunavut.

The first phase of the consultation has started and all hamlets and health centres will receive information packages about the Mental Health Act in the next few weeks. These packages also contain forms for Nunavummiut to provide feedback.

Community consultation visits will take place in 11 Nunavut communities starting in September. More information about the dates and communities will be provided later this summer.
