Position Summary
The KGH Laboratory team are hiring Medical Lab Assistants to join their busy Microbiology department.The KGH Laboratory is our largest and most highly specialized 24/7 lab and progressive teaching facility. The Lab employs more than 200 people including generalist and specialist Lab Assistants, Med Lab Technologists, department Specialists, Scientists and Pathologists. Our dedicated Lab professionals work collaboratively in the disciplines of Accession, Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Services, Histology and Microbiology.

This position is within our Microbiology department, the Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of duties such as receiving and processing specimens for analysis. Other duties may include performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to Laboratory departments and/or outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

This is a permanent part-time 0.73fte position. Days of work are rotating and shifts times are days and evenings: 08:00 to 16:00, 12:00 to 20:00, 15:00 to 23:00. We offer a range of employee benefits and services to support you at every stage of your career.

Grade 12
Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
One year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
