Media Alert – Save the Date! Heart and Stroke Foundation 2014 Stroke Report coming June 5 – Will an already stressed healthcare system be able to keep up?

OTTAWA, June 2, 2014  – Stroke care has come a long way in Canada – more than 80 per cent of Canadians who have a stroke and make it to hospital will survive. This is great news, but it is only part of the story and only today’s story.

Drawing on new data, this year’s HSF stroke report reveals advances in stroke treatment and care over the past 10 years and identifies coming challenges.

The report reveals startling findings in areas including age and stroke, the increasing complexities in treating stroke patents and access to care and rehab. Are we ready for the rising tide?

Watch CNW for the release on Thursday, June 5 at 12:01 ET.

The report, photos, local survivor stories, links and video will be also available.
