Media Advisory – The New Health Professionals Network presents the 4th Annual Tommy Douglas Celebration of Medicare Awards

TORONTO, June 11 – This week, at a conference sponsored by the Association of Ontario Health Centres (AOHC), Canada’s future healthcare professionals, the New Health Professional Network (NHPN), will present its 4th Annual Tommy Douglas Celebration of Medicare Awards.At the conference, over 500 health professionals and policymakers from across Canada will gather to apply Second Stage of Medicare solutions to one of the biggest dilemmas facing our health system: how to do a better job preventing and managing chronic disease. The relevance of Douglas’ early ideas about a Second Stage of Medicare is on the rise as many current health policy experts now point to the same solutions to make Canadian health care more timely, accessible and effective. The NHPN is proud to make its Award presentation at this important event.
