Media Advisory – Health Council of Canada to release report on the progress of health care in Canada

Toronto, May 25, 2011 –

What: The Health Council of Canada reports on Canada’s progress on health care reform. Dr. Jack Kitts, Chair of the Health Council of Canada, will reveal Canada’s progress to date on wait times, pharmaceuticals management, teletriage, electronic health records, and health innovation.In the 2003 First Ministers’ Accord on Health Care Renewal and the 2004 10-Year Plan to Strengthen Health Care, Canada’s First Ministers committed to reform the health care system. Have they met their commitments? Progress Report 2011: Health care renewal in Canada, the Health Council of Canada’s newest report coming May 31, 2011 will inform Canadians of what governments are doing to fulfill the commitments and what results have been achieved to date.
