Ottawa, Ontario – June 8, 2011 – Eight hundred nurses from across Canada will be in Winnipeg June 13-17 to tackle national issues such as hospital overcrowding, nurse- patient ratios, care for seniors and the next Health Accord.The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) meeting at the Winnipeg Convention Centre marks the 30th anniversary of the Federation.
The nurses, joined by the provincial nursing union leaders, will be attending the biennial convention. The CFNU is Canada’s largest nurses’ organization representing over 176,000 members. Joining the CFNU in the discussion will be nursing leaders from Ireland, Australia and the United States.
Highlights of the Convention include:
