Manitoba Metis Heritage Fund Partnering with CancerCare Manitoba Foundation for A Hunt for the Cure Gala

Winnipeg, MB – Today the Manitoba Metis Heritage Fund (MMHF) along with the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) announced their partnership with CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (CCMF) for its 2018 Gala, A Hunt for the Cure.

“We are pleased to partner with CancerCare Manitoba Foundation in support of their Toward Improved Care for Underserved Populations program” said Denise Thomas, Chair, Manitoba Metis Heritage Fund. “Funds raised through the Gala will directly improve care for our Citizens, particularly in Northern Manitoba.”

“The Foundation is honoured and excited to enter into this new partnership with the Manitoba Metis Heritage Fund and the Manitoba Metis Federation,” said Annitta Stenning, president and CEO of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. “Together we will be helping CancerCare Manitoba continue its efforts toward improved care for our province’s underserved populations, which includes Métis, First Nations and Inuit peoples in particular.”

A Hunt for the Cure will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Fairmont Winnipeg. All proceeds raised will directly support the Toward Improved Care for Underserved Populations program, which aims to close the gaps for programming and services to Northern Manitoba.

From the applications received during the request for proposal period, CancerCare Manitoba Foundation was selected based on its commitment to supporting CancerCare’s provision of new and enhanced access to services. With cancer affecting so many Manitobans, CancerCare Manitoba’s program Toward Improved Care for Underserved Populations ensures timely diagnosis, availability of treatments and accessibility are not barriers for cancer survival in Manitoba.
