Kugaaruk and Taloyoak Family Wellness offices temporarily closed

The Department of Family Services is advising residents of Kugaaruk and Taloyoak that the Family Wellness Offices will be closed effective immediately due to staff shortages. The Kugaaruk office is closed until further notice. The Taloyoak office is closed until May 26, 2023.

During the temporary closure, limited staffing resources will be available to provide emergent and some restricted services, such as family visits and assisting clients to and from appointments.

Expect delays when contacting the Family Wellness Office on-call number. A list of contact numbers for Family Wellness Offices across the territory can be found on the Government of Nunavut website. For emergencies, contact your local RCMP.

Service reductions or closures are subject to change based on staff availability.

The Department of Family Services is working with partners to ensure Nunavummiut have access to necessary services while addressing staff shortages.
