FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 21, 2014, Happy National Aboriginal Day! Summer Equinox is here again!
On behalf of the Aboriginal Nurses Association of Canada, we would like to send out special greetings to everyone who will be participating and enjoying the many events on June 21, 2014 as a day of pride and recognition.
Join in the celebrations with First Nation, Inuit, and Métis people to honor and sustain the continued resilience and existence of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Our collective commitment to seek a future built on the foundation of wellness is our mission. To all Canadians we ask you that you embrace the diversity of our nations, and participate in activities that are happening across the Canadian landscape.
Today is a day to reflect on where we have come from in order to determine where are going. It is important to remember we did not get here on our own, and in recognition of the many leaders that have come before us today we show our respect for the strong leadership and to the youth who continue to inspire us with renewed hopes for social justice.
