Ivujivik resident dies from COVID-19 complications – Nunatsiaq News

An Ivujivik resident has died from COVID-19 complications, according to the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services.
The health board announced the death in a Facebook post, expressing condolences to the family, and encouraging residents to seek counselling, if needed.
“The NRBHSS shares the sadness in the recent loss of one of our fellow Nunavimmiut,” states the post. “Our thoughts are with the family, friends and the communities during this difficult time.”
Nunavik has seen five COVID-19 deaths, according to data from the board and Quebec government. This most recent death occurred less than two months after a Kuujjuaq resident was the first person to die from COVID-19 complications in the region on Nov. 19.
