In an emotional meeting lasting almost four hours, Federal Health Minister Jane Philpott met Monday with three of the four men from northern Manitoba who were switched at birth more than 40 years ago and only recently found out.

At a press conference that followed, the minister pledged Ottawa would support a response that meets their needs and to move forward with an external review to determine what happened. The RCMP are also investigating.
“We had a deep discussion about the circumstances these men and their families had endured as a result of the incidents that took place around the time of their birth,” Philpott said.
