IRC: Support Applications Funded to Date

Press Release

Over the last four (4) days Inuvialuit Regional Corporation has worked with the local retailers

  • Stantons Distributing
  • NorthMart
  • Northwind gas station
  • Bob Gully’s gas station
  • Arctic Co-operative
  • ATBA Van Can gas station

To purchase bulk food orders under the Child First Initiative; food, gas and supplies for the On the Land Program; food and supplies for the Elders program.

We are now pausing the program until next week – as the Retailers need to re-stock their shelves and IRC staff need to catch up to their administrative paperwork.

  • Received, reviewed and processed 392 food baskets for Elders over 60
  • Received, reviewed and processed 293 Inuit Child First Initiative supports to family members in households with children under 18 years
  • Received, reviewed and processed applications to help 701 people to go On the Land
  • Providing funds to each Community Corporation to manage immediate Community Harvests.

For Elders outside the Inuvialuit Settlement Region, IRC’s Health & Wellness Division will be processing support benefits in a timely manner.

If you have applied for a program and received an auto reply, IRC has your application and you will not need to re-apply when support services resume.

Please be patient.
