Free support is available for Inuvialuit survivors of the Indian Day School system and their families who are hoping to claim compensation under the 2019 federal class action settlement.
Support is provided by IRC’s legal division and Resolution Health Support Program team. Appointments are available in person in Inuvik or by phone for Inuvialuit in other ISR communities.
To book an appointment, please contact either:

The deadline to apply for this settlement is July 13, 2022. Inuvialuit are encouraged to get their applications in as soon as possible.
Those applying on behalf of a deceased person who did not have a Will need to complete estate administration documents that need to be filed in court before they can apply under the settlement.
IRC can help complete these documents if the deceased’s estate is valued under $10,000.00. If the estate value is more, IRC can direct applicants to the proper resource to get this completed.
This process can take weeks, so please reach out to us early for support.
Please bring the following to your appointment:
● Your photo I.D.
● SIN Number
● IRC beneficiary number
If applying on behalf of a deceased person, please bring:
● Death and Birth certificate
● Will, if available
● Court Order, if available
