Inuvialuit Regional Corporation Support for Federal Day School

Press Release

October 22nd, 2021

The Federal Day Schools Class Action (FDSCA) Settlement Agreement is meant to address harm suffered because of Canada’s establishment, management, and funding of Federal Day Schools. IRC has been involved in advocating for Class members of Federal Day Schools to ensure that survivors can access claims and gain compensation for harm at the Levels they are eligible.

The Claim Form is available indiandayschools.com and IRC’s Legal and Resolution Health Support team with IRC’s Health & Wellness also have Claim Forms on hand.  Survivor applicants were given 2.5 years to submit their forms for compensation and the last day to submit a Claim will be July 13, 2022.

There is legal support available for those seeking assistance on completing and filing a Day School Claim. There is also help available including legal advice if your claim is downward classified from the original level you had submitted.  We encourage beneficiaries to reach out in such cases prior to filing any documents with the Claims Administrator.
