Inuit caregiver workshop

The Department of Family Services is hosting an Inuit caregiver workshop for Inuit foster parents and individuals interested in fostering to participate in training designed to enhance caregiver skills for nurturing children in foster care.

The goal of the workshop is to have Inuit caregivers gather to discuss and share their experiences with caregiving and working with the Department of Family Services.

Caregivers will participate in sharing circles with facilitated discussion questions. Activities like beading, sewing, whittling, and knitting will be available to help participants with sharing and processing.

Workshop Session: September 17 to 19, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Astro Hill Building in Iqaluit. Please contact the Family Wellness Training Specialist at 867 222 5962 to register for the workshop.
