Seven nations in the Interior region came together on the $16-million project
The Seven Nations Soaring Eagles Healing Centre is in the final stages of construction after nearly a decade of planning and effort.
Located at 1278 West Creston Road, the centre is a collaboration between the Ktunaxa Nation Council, Yaqan Nukiy (Lower Kootenay Band), and six other Interior nations: Dãkelh Dené, Nlaka’pamux, Secwepemc, St’át’imc, Syilx, and Tŝilhqot’in.
Originally envisioned as a $4-million project, the budget has since grown to $16 million, reflecting the challenges faced along the way. Still, the heart of the mission has never wavered: to provide Indigenous-led treatment for those struggling with addiction.
