The ‘Hope in Darkness’ walk across Canada continues its journey through northwestern Ontario.
Sergeant Kevin Redsky is scheduled to arrive in Kenora this morning to help raise awareness of youth mental health and suicide.
Redsky, who is originally from the Shoal Lake #40 First Nation, has been in policing for 15 years and he talks about the importance of police-youth relations.
“Re-establishing those relationships. It’s important because we’re always the first on the scene right, dealing with the youth. So to gain that trust is really important. Officers understand that”.
